We are looking for a caring and motivated Learning Support Worker to join our friendly Additional Learning Support (ALS) team at Peterborough and Stamford College. This is a rewarding role where you will support students with a range of learning needs to engage fully in college life, build their confidence, and achieve their goals.
Responsibilities:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to learners with additional needs
- Helping students stay focused, motivated, and engaged in their lessons
- Supporting the development of literacy, numeracy, and study skills
- Encouraging learner independence, confidence, and self-esteem
- Using assistive technology and tailored strategies to remove barriers to learning
- Working closely with teaching staff and the wider ALS team to deliver excellent person-centred support
- Keeping accurate records and contributing to reviews and learner progress tracking
Qualifications, Experience & Requirements:
- Compassionate, patient, and encouraging
- Able to communicate clearly and build positive relationships
- Organised and reliable, with good attention to detail
- Confident using Microsoft Office and basic IT tools
- Committed to safeguarding, equality, and inclusive learning
- Experience working with learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities would be an advantage, but it is not essential - we will provide training and ongoing professional development.
- You should hold Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy (GCSEs Grade C/4 or equivalent) and ideally a Level 2 qualification in Learning Support (or be willing to work towards it).
