Peterborough College is seeking a Student Recruitment & IAG Officer to join the Student Recruitment and Information, Advice and Guidance team. This role is central to the student journey, supporting prospective students from their first enquiry through to enrolment and helping them take the next step towards education, training or employment. This is a full time (37 hours per week), permanent role based at Peterborough College.

About the role

As part of the Student Recruitment team, you will play a key role in ensuring every prospective student receives a welcoming, supportive and personalised experience. You will provide clear and impartial advice and guidance to help applicants choose the right course for their ambitions, while also supporting the college to achieve its recruitment and growth targets. You will work closely with curriculum teams, marketing, student services and external partners to ensure applicants receive the right information, support and opportunities throughout their journey with the college.

Key responsibilities

  • Support prospective students and their families from the initial enquiry stage through to enrolment, ensuring they receive accurate information and a positive experience throughout the process.
  • Coordinate key parts of the admissions process, including arranging interviews and onboarding activities, and act as a key point of contact for applicants during their application journey.
  • Represent the college at recruitment activities such as open days, school visits, parents' evenings and external events, promoting courses and encouraging applications.
  • Provide impartial information, advice and guidance to help students choose programmes that match their aspirations, skills and achievements, while also advising on student support such as bursaries, funding and transport.
  • Work closely with internal support teams to ensure students with additional needs receive the guidance and support required to successfully transition into college.

About you

We are looking for someone who is organised, approachable and committed to delivering outstanding customer service. You will have strong communication skills and the confidence to provide guidance to a wide range of applicants. You should have experience working in an administrative or customer-facing role and be comfortable managing multiple tasks while maintaining high levels of accuracy and professionalism. A good general level of education including Level 2 English and Maths is essential, along with a Level 3 qualification in IAG or administration, or the willingness to work towards this. Working hours are normally 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am to 4.30pm Friday. All offers of employment are subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check. The successful candidate will be subject to a thorough vetting process which includes an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
