Stamford College is seeking an experienced Payroll & Pensions Manager to lead the delivery of accurate, compliant and customer-focused payroll and pension services across the IEG group.
About the role
You will play a key role within the Finance team, ensuring staff are paid accurately and on time and that all payroll and pension activities meet statutory, contractual and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage the preparation and delivery of monthly payrolls
- Ensure compliance with payroll legislation, HMRC requirements and Financial Regulations
- Produce payroll reports, journals and forecasts for management accounts
- Manage statutory and contractual payments, including sick pay and family leave
- Act as the main point of contact for payroll and pension queries
- Liaise with HMRC, auditors, pension providers and external agencies
- Coordinate pension administration, including auto-enrolment and end-of-year processes
- Work closely with HR on pay awards and employee changes
- Maintain a high standard of customer service and data confidentiality
About you
You will have proven experience in a payroll role, strong technical knowledge of UK payroll legislation and pension administration, and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. You will be organised, analytical and able to meet tight deadlines while working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders. You will also hold:
- Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent)
- A relevant Level 3 qualification
- CIPP Payroll qualification at Level 4
- Strong IT skills and experience using computerised payroll systems
