Work Pattern: Hybrid, with at least 1 day per week in our HQ office in NG8

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join the Inspire Finance Team, based in Nottingham.

What You'll Do

Reporting to the Finance Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of our day-to-day financial processes. This includes:

  • Accurately entering and uploading purchase transactions into Inspire's accounting software
  • Creating purchase orders when required
  • Preparing payment runs in line with our financial policies and regulations
  • Setting up and maintaining supplier records
  • Coordinating the purchase card process, including monthly reporting and correct VAT treatment
  • Preparing and issuing sales invoices
  • Generating income uploads
  • Ensuring all finance documentation is kept organised and up to date
  • Providing timely, professional responses to transactional finance queries from colleagues and external stakeholders
  • Supporting the finance team with general administrative tasks

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for a motivated and capable individual with previous experience working within a finance function and the ability to confidently manage day-to-day financial processes. You will bring:

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the use of formulas, VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables
  • Effective communication skills with clear and professional written and verbal abilities
  • Excellent organisational abilities and strong attention to detail
  • The confidence to handle multiple tasks while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Education And Knowledge Required For The Role

  • GCSE Maths and English grade C or above

Skills And Experience

  • Previous experience of working in a finance function
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel (including formulas, VLOOKUPs, Pivot tables)
  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written), and excellent people skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
