Location details: EH10 5EG

Salary: £15.60 per hour

Working Pattern: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, between the hours of 7am to 4pm, with occasional weekends; flexibility is a must

Your key responsibilities will include

  • Documenting each morning what the Head Chefs or site manager require before they prepare the day’s dishes
  • Cleaning and organising the food preparation area for the Head Chef
  • Ordering and receiving orders when required
  • Ensuring the kitchen team prepare the dishes according to site specifications and standards
  • Managing around 10 to 12 members of chefs and kitchen assistants
  • Covers around up to 1000 pupils and staff a day
  • Training new and current team on the restaurant’s standards and regulations
  • Make sure kitchen is ready for any external and internal auditors
  • Addressing any complaints quickly and report it back
  • Monitoring the kitchen area and the staff to ensure sanitation standards are maintained
  • Ensuring/checking all food products are not expired, checking daily dates and comply with food standards agency
  • Covering the head chef in their absence
  • Communicate with relevant parties requirements for planned menus and order necessary ingredients

Our ideal Sous Chef will

  • Be passionate about great-tasting food and exceptional customer service
  • Be from restaurant but contract catering experience highly desirable
  • Have experience supervising a team
  • Have experience in a similar Chef role
  • Hold a Food Hygiene certificate
  • Have a flexible approach to working
