We have a vacancy for an energetic, resilient and solution focused person, who wants to make a difference in our pupils\’ lives.
This is a great opportunity to join our excellent pastoral team as a Behaviour Lead and to be the first point of contact for our families, working with parents, carers, staff and pupils to ensure the highest levels of pastoral support.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Work every day in a child-focused way to find solutions for our most vulnerable pupils to succeed.
- Provide immediate support for behavioural incidents which take place.
- Plan and timetable appropriate nurturing and supportive interventions.
- Write behaviour risk assessments and positive behaviour plans.
- Liaise with parents and external agencies to ensure support is in place for individual children.
- Be an Alternate Designated Safeguarding Lead and attend multi-agency meetings in line with this as required
- Manage the behaviour team to ensure preventative strategies are in place.
- Work with the SENDCO and SLT to drive the culture for brilliant behaviours and attitudes across the academy.
About You:
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills for building relationships with staff and students, high emotional intelligence, empathy, and a proactive approach to behaviour management. You will have experience of working with vulnerable pupils to promote positive behaviour strategies and to help pupils access all aspects of school life. You will also be able to utilise data to implement tailored support strategies.
- Good numeracy/literacy skills and minimum GCSE English (grade C or above) or equivalent
- Experience of working with primary students who require a level of nurture support and behaviour management, although training will be provided as necessary
- Ability to evaluate student’s behaviour and understand a variety of techniques to de-escalate situations where students behave in challenging ways
- Experience of working with families and ability to interact well with all stakeholders
- Experience of safeguarding or be willing to train and learn.
- Lead by example and be solution focused
- Be Norfolk Steps / DSL trained or willing to undertake training.
- First Aid training
