As an Employment Specialist, you will deliver tailored vocational profiling, career planning, job matching and in-work coaching to ensure participants not only gain employment but are supported to thrive within it. This will be done using the evidence based Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model. You will be based from our office in either Barrow-in-Furness, Carlisle or Workington.
Responsibilities
- Provide structured 1:1 employment support, based on individual wants and needs, to adults facing significant barriers or health conditions to support them to move into sustainable employment.
- Provide continued support to participants and employers once in work, including identifying job retention strategies.
- Managing a caseload of participants.
- Develop strong partnerships with local employers to create inclusive job opportunities, as well as working closely with health services, education providers, and community organisations to provide joined-up, holistic support.
- Achieve performance targets, maintaining accurate records and achieve required customer and quality standards alongside contributing to monitoring and evaluation to demonstrate outcomes and impact.
About You
- Experience of working with individuals facing barriers to employment including, but not limited to ex-offenders, those with substance addictions, refugees, care experienced, those with disabilities and learning disabilities and those with health conditions.
- An award in Employability and IPS Integration or willingness to work towards.
- A good standard of literacy and numeracy (GCSE grade 4 / C or equivalent).
- The ability to identify, establish and maintain effective working partnerships for the benefit of customers.
- Experience working in a target driven environment.
- Knowledge of IPS Fidelity and the Equality Act 2010 with the implementation of reasonable adjustments into the workplace.
- A good working knowledge of the local labour market in the specified geographical locations.
- The ability to keep accurate and up to date records with a good attention to detail. This includes data entry on electronic systems.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to respond to demanding pressures and to meet deadlines.
- An ability to work on own initiative and a proactive approach to problem solving.
