Inspectas has built an excellent reputation for high standards of work and strong service delivery across public and private sector clients. As we grow and deliver a large nationwide contract, we are looking for a senior or lead asbestos consultant to anchor technical quality, mentor the team and own key client relationships. The role is based out of our office near Leeds, though we are open to candidates near our Stevenage office or from further afield.
This is a senior role for someone who has moved beyond day-to-day surveying into technical leadership. You will set standards, sign off work and be a trusted point of contact for clients across predominantly retail, commercial and industrial properties.
What will you be doing:
- Acting as technical lead across surveying and analytical work, setting and upholding standards
- For analytical work, air monitoring and four-stage clearances in line with guidance (HSG248)
- Leading complex and higher-profile surveys and advising on asbestos management strategy
- Quality-assuring and signing off reports, and supporting UKAS accreditation
- Mentoring and developing surveyors and analysts
- Owning client relationships and identifying new business opportunities
- Overseeing contractor and project management where required
What we are looking for:
- Experience, at least 7 years in a UKAS-accredited asbestos consultancy, including senior or lead responsibility
- Certification, BOHS Certificate of Competence in Asbestos (CoCA, Level 5), or the RSPH Level 4 Certificate in Asbestos Laboratory and Project Management
- Underpinning, the individual modules behind those qualifications (BOHS P402, P403 and P404, or the RSPH equivalents), with P405 valued
- Proven leadership and mentoring, excellent report writing and strong client-facing skills
- Desirable but not essential: Full clean UK driving licence and the flexibility to travel nationwide when required
- Desirable, not essential: nuclear or security clearance
