We're looking for a Financial Controller to take ownership of the day-to-day running of our group finance function and the integrity of our numbers. This is a hands-on role with real breadth: you'll own the month-end close and statutory reporting, sharpen our controls and processes, and act as a trusted partner to the Head of Finance and wider business as we grow. It suits someone who qualified in a top accounting firm, has a few years of post-qualification experience behind them, has prior experience managing junior staff and now wants to move in-house and get real ownership over financial processes.
About the role
What You’ll Do:
- Own the month-end and year-end close across group entities, delivering accurate and timely management accounts
- Prepare consolidated group reporting and statutory financial statements, and manage the annual audit
- Maintain and improve the control environment - reconciliations, approval flows, policies and documentation
- Own revenue recognition for our SaaS and services revenue streams, including deferred revenue and contract accounting
- Manage cash flow reporting, working capital and treasury operations
- Oversee compliance across tax, VAT and statutory filings in the jurisdictions we operate in, working with external advisors
- Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis alongside the FP&A side of the team
- Improve how finance runs: systems, automation and reporting that scale with the business
- Support corporate activity including acquisitions, integrations and investor or lender reporting
- Mentor and develop junior members of the finance team
What You’ll Bring:
- ACA or ACCA qualified
- 2-5 years of post-qualification experience
- Qualified with a leading accounting firm (Big 4, Forvis Mazars, BDO, Grant Thornton or similar)
- Experience in SaaS and/or professional services
- Experience with multi-entity, multi-currency and consolidation
- Confident owning a close process end to end, with a genuine eye for detail and accuracy
- Comfortable in a fast-moving environment where processes are still being built rather than inherited
- Clear communicator who can explain financial results to non-finance colleagues
Why Insly?
- Flexible working time and working place - we choose results over the process but know that with freedom comes accountability!
