This is a field‑based, client‑facing position where you’ll gain exposure to the full lifecycle of heat network metering, from early scoping and technical surveys through to installation oversight, compliance assurance and ongoing system optimisation.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll become a trusted technical specialist, supporting the compliant and efficient delivery of metering systems across communal and district heat networks. Your work will directly support regulatory frameworks such as the Heat Network (Metering and Billing) Regulations and the upcoming HNTAS scheme.
Your responsibilities will include:
Technical audits
Assessing metering systems, accuracy classes and compliance with UK billing regulations.
RF & communication surveys
Carrying out LoRaWAN signal surveys, validating connectivity and producing coverage heatmaps.
Scoping & design assessments
Reviewing HIU layouts, riser structures and plant rooms to define metering solutions.
Project planning
Supporting installation teams with technical briefs, diagrams and commissioning checks.
Equipment specification
Selecting heat meters, gateways and controllers that meet compliance and integration standards.
Quality assurance
Validating live systems, monitoring meter health and supporting remediation actions.
Client engagement
Representing Insite during site visits, consultations and technical discussions.
