Are you ready to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of heat networks and energy consultancy in the UK? Insite Energy is seeking an expert in heat network regulation and energy pricing to lead our growing Energy Services function. As a key member of our Client Services Leadership Team, you’ll take ownership of our Energy Consultancy Services, covering Tariffs, Brokerage, and Heat Network Monitoring, and drive their continued development as our client portfolio expands. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who thrives on combining technical expertise with strategic thinking. You’ll act as Insite’s in‑house authority on heat network energy, guiding internal teams, advising clients, and ensuring our services deliver exceptional technical, financial, and customer outcomes. Duties and responsibilities:
- Acting as Insite Energy’s expert in house heat network energy consultant, advising both internal teams and clients
- Leadership of the Energy Services
- Leadership and ownership for the client, technical and financial performance of Insite’s Energy Consultancy Services
- Procurement of energy from a range of regulated market providers, with the aim of achieving the best possible price and service for clients that Insite serve across the UK.
- Attending market wide seminars and pro-actively researching regulatory and best practice rules and guidance.
- Completion of in-depth professional written energy consultant reports that focus on recommended efficiency improvements to heat and cooling networks.
- Professional and engaging communication with Clients to obtain key information related to the calculation of tariffs and to support energy efficiency reviews.
- Working with solutions, client services and marketing teams to create engaging and easy to understand customer-facing communication, which supports the understanding of Energy Services
- Completion of heat and cooling tariff reviews that accurately recover the future costs of Gas and Electricity to heat and cooling networks. This will involve the gathering and assessment of data that form part of heat loss and financial analysis reports issued to Insite’s Clients and internal stakeholders.
- Tracking of key dates across Insite’s extensive portfolio of Clients, to ensure that the tariffs in place are periodically reviewed in line with our contractual obligations.
- Creation and management of in-house risk reports that highlight potential areas of concern, focused primarily on the accuracy of heat and cooling tariffs and the efficiencies of these networks.
- Calculation of historical debt/credits due to residents on heat and cooling networks following an under/over recovery of costs.
- Application of heat, cooling tariffs and historic debts/credits across multiple supplier and internal platforms.
- Tracking and reporting the application of tariffs, debts/credits by account. Reporting meter faults that are preventing application to internal teams.
Location and working hours:
- 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:30
- Office location: Moorgate, London (WeWork)
- Flexibility to work from home as agreed with line manager
Required skills and attributes:
- Experience within the energy sector, preferably within Heat Networks or Utilities
- Technical understanding of Utilities, preferably in Heat Networks
- Specialist energy data analytical skills across multiple software platforms
- Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- Experienced in data input and cloud-based software solutions.
- Mathematical / Analytics expertise.
- Experience within energy brokerage services
