An established and growing accountancy practice in St Albans is looking to strengthen its Private Client Tax team with the appointment of an experienced Tax Senior. This is a great opportunity for someone who already has a solid grounding in personal tax and wants to develop their experience across a varied private client portfolio, with good exposure to more complex work and progression opportunities.
The role involves working closely with experienced Managers and Partners, looking after a portfolio of private clients and taking responsibility for a broad range of personal tax matters. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a portfolio of personal tax clients
- Preparing and reviewing Self Assessment tax returns
- Advising HNW individuals, business owners and private clients
- Dealing with partnerships and more complex personal tax affairs
- Supporting on tax planning and advisory work
- Building strong relationships with clients and acting as a key point of contact
- Identifying opportunities to provide additional advice and services
- Supporting junior members of the team and reviewing work where appropriate
- Working alongside the wider tax and accounts teams
What we're looking for:
- Previous experience within a UK accountancy practice
- Strong personal/private client tax experience
- Experience managing your own portfolio
- Comfortable dealing directly with clients
- ATT qualified or working towards qualification would be advantageous
- CTA qualification or progression towards CTA would be beneficial
- Strong technical knowledge and attention to detail
- Someone who wants to continue developing their advisory experience
