Are you technically strong across transactional tax but looking for a role where you can take genuine ownership of projects, advise clients directly and help develop others? This is an opportunity to join a growing accountancy business with a specialist tax advisory team, supporting owner-managed companies and their shareholders through reorganisations, incorporations, share schemes and other complex transactions.

As Senior Tax Advisory Manager, you will manage projects from initial planning through to implementation, combining detailed tax analysis with practical, commercially focused advice. You will work closely with clients, solicitors and internal teams while reviewing work completed by less experienced colleagues. Based in Coventry, the role offers flexible working hours, strong progression and a broad package that includes a company car or allowance, team bonuses and profit sharing.

The role

  • Take responsibility for delivering technically complex tax projects accurately, efficiently and within agreed timescales.
  • Manage corporate reorganisations, incorporations and employee share incentive projects.
  • Prepare detailed step plans, project timelines and implementation schedules.
  • Analyse the Corporation Tax, Capital Gains Tax, Income Tax, Stamp Tax, Inheritance Tax and employment tax implications of transactions.
  • Prepare and review HMRC clearance applications, statutory filings and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate with clients, solicitors and other professional advisers throughout each project.
  • Review technical analysis and project work completed by Tax Advisers.
  • Identify further tax planning and mitigation opportunities for clients.
  • Provide clear, accurate advice on complex matters outside standard compliance work.
  • Monitor budgets, deadlines and project deliverables.
  • Coach and mentor junior colleagues and support their technical development.
  • Contribute to appraisals, regular one-to-ones and wider team development.

The Senior Tax Advisory Manager will be trusted to maintain strong client relationships and explain complicated tax issues in a clear, practical way. This is not a narrow compliance position. It is suited to someone who enjoys solving problems, researching legislation and seeing projects through from advice to implementation.

What we're looking for

  • Ideally CTA qualified or hold an equivalent professional qualification, with experience gained in an accountancy firm, specialist tax consultancy or similar advisory environment.
  • Strong knowledge of direct taxes within a transactional or restructuring context.
  • Experience of corporate reorganisations, incorporations, share schemes or related advisory projects.
  • The confidence to research legislation and case law independently.
  • Strong written skills, particularly when preparing technical analysis and client advice.
  • The ability to review complex work and maintain high standards of accuracy.
  • A practical, solutions-led approach to client work.
  • Experience supporting, coaching or reviewing the work of junior colleagues.
  • Excellent organisation and project management skills.
  • A genuine interest in continuing to develop your technical expertise.

The wider accountancy team has a collaborative and ambitious culture, with considerable scope for someone to expand their responsibilities as the advisory offering grows.

What's on offer

  • £60,000-£70,000 salary, depending on experience.
  • Company car or car allowance following the qualifying period.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • Team bonus scheme.
  • Profit share arrangement following the qualifying period.
  • 30 days' holiday including bank holidays.
  • Private medical insurance following the qualifying period.
  • Fully funded professional development and study support.
  • Regular team events and recognition lunches.
  • Clear progression within a growing specialist tax function.
  • Complimentary lunches provided several days each week.

This Senior Tax Advisory Manager opportunity would suit someone who wants more autonomy, meaningful client contact and the chance to influence how a developing advisory team operates. The position is based in Coventry and offers the opportunity to build a long-term career within a progressive firm environment. Apply for confidential consideration or to discuss the role in more detail.
