Senior Client Accountant £45,000 - £55,000 | Permanent | Full-time | Are you an experienced practice accountant looking for a role where you can take ownership of a varied client portfolio, work closely with business owners and continue developing your career? As a Senior Client Accountant , you'll manage a portfolio of clients across a broad range of sectors, providing high-quality accounts, tax and advisory support while acting as a trusted point of contact. You'll have genuine client exposure, responsibility for your own workload and the opportunity to contribute beyond traditional compliance work. The Role Based in Harrow , this position would suit an ambitious accountant with solid practice experience who enjoys building strong client relationships and wants greater responsibility within a supportive team. You'll be involved in a mixture of accounts preparation, personal and corporation tax, VAT and management accounts, alongside providing commercially useful advice to clients. The role offers scope to develop towards a manager-level position for the right person. What you'll be doing Managing a portfolio of owner-managed businesses and SME clients Preparing year-end statutory accounts and financial statements Completing corporation tax and personal tax computations and returns Preparing management accounts and providing meaningful financial insight Supporting clients with VAT, bookkeeping and general accounting queries Building trusted relationships with clients and becoming their go-to accounting contact Reviewing work completed by more junior members of the team Helping to identify additional opportunities where clients could benefit from wider services Assisting with more complex accounting and advisory assignments Supporting junior colleagues through coaching, guidance and technical development Managing deadlines across multiple client assignments while maintaining a high standard of accuracy What we're looking for You'll ideally have several years of accountancy practice experience and be comfortable managing clients independently. We're particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate: Strong experience within an accountancy practice environment Previous responsibility for managing a portfolio of clients Good knowledge of UK accounting standards and tax principles Experience preparing year-end accounts and corporation tax returns Confidence dealing directly with clients and explaining financial information clearly Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines A proactive, commercially minded approach rather than simply focusing on compliance Experience reviewing or supporting the development of junior team members ACA, ACCA or AAT qualification, part-qualified status, or strong relevant experience What's on offer £45,000 - £55,000 salary , depending on experience and qualifications A varied client portfolio with genuine responsibility Direct exposure to business owners and senior stakeholders Ongoing technical and professional development Opportunities to progress into a management position Supportive working environment with a collaborative team A role where your commercial input and client relationships are genuinely valued The position is based in Harrow and offers the chance to join an established accountancy business at an exciting stage of its growth.
