Overview

I'm working exclusively with a highly respected and forward-thinking professional services firm in London that is looking to add an R&D Tax Consultant to their specialist team.

This is a high-impact, client-facing role offering exposure to a diverse and exciting portfolio-from innovative tech start-ups to established global brands. You'll work at the intersection of innovation and tax, helping clients unlock the value of their R&D through HMRC-compliant tax relief claims.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and submission of R&D tax credit claims (SME and RDEC).

• Engage directly with clients across multiple sectors-tech, engineering, life sciences, and more.

• Translate complex technical processes into tax-eligible activities.

• Draft high-quality technical and financial documentation to support claims.

• Collaborate with tax partners, finance, and technical teams.

• Stay up to date on changes to R&D tax legislation and HMRC guidance.

Candidate Profile

• Background in tax, finance, accountancy, or STEM with relevant R&D tax experience.

• Experience preparing successful R&D claims (ideally in a consultancy or practice setting).

• Strong technical writing and analytical skills.

• Excellent interpersonal skills-confident dealing with both CFOs and engineers.

• ACA/CTA/ATT or equivalent a plus but not essential.
