The Role: I am looking for a talented Private Client Tax professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and embraces the chance to tackle complex challenges. You will be based with the London team, dealing with high-net-worth individuals and their families and trusts, in addition to gaining exposure to a variety of projects, including working on international and cross-border tax issues. The role will involve dispute resolution and advisory, with a strong bias towards more complex cases.
There will be a degree of flexibility to tailor the role to the individual, with opportunities to get involved with:
- OMB restructuring projects such as mergers, demergers, acquisitions, tax due diligence, profit extraction and succession planning;
- International matters including offshore trusts and structures;
- Inheritance tax planning.
Role responsibilities will include:
- Managing and supporting a diverse portfolio which will include but is not limited to high-net-worth individuals, wealthy families, and offshore structures.
- Supporting senior staff and partners on complex projects, whilst also gaining exposure to business development initiatives.
- Overseeing the preparation, submission, and review of annual tax returns of all delegated clients.
- Ensuring all tax returns are compliant with tax regulations and liaising with HMRC and clients on all personal tax issues.
- Management of HMRC interventions, including s9A enquiries, other investigations, and voluntary disclosures.
- Supporting with business development and marketing initiatives.
- Supporting junior members of the team with their development.
The Individual:
- CTA/ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent.
- Professional curiosity and desire for continuous learning.
- IT literate (Excel, Word, tax software).
- Effective communication skills - verbal and written.
- Ability to supervise juniors in the team.
- Organisational skills and the ability to plan and prioritise work accordingly.
- Client focus/commercial awareness.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
