Senior Commercial Finance Manager
£65,000 to £70,000 + benefits
Milton Keynes
Permanent, full-time
I'm working with a large, established international business within manufacturing and production to recruit a Senior Commercial Finance Manager into a broad, commercially focused role with real ownership of planning, revenue and performance. This isn't simply a reporting position. You'll be responsible for understanding what is driving performance, where the risks and opportunities sit, and giving senior stakeholders the financial insight they need to make better decisions. Based in Milton Keynes, the role brings together FP&A, commercial finance, financial control and business partnering across a sizeable and complex operation.
The role
As Senior Commercial Finance Manager, you'll take ownership of revenue, margin and profitability performance while leading forecasting and planning activity for a significant area of the business. You'll work closely with Finance, Sales, Marketing and Operations, providing both support and challenge across a manufacturing and production environment. Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading budgeting, forecasting and latest estimate cycles
- Owning revenue, cost of sales, margin and profitability reporting
- Analysing financial and operational performance to identify key drivers, risks and opportunities
- Developing forecasting models, financial assumptions and scenario analysis
- Providing clear commercial insight and recommendations to senior stakeholders
- Supporting month-end close and maintaining accurate financial reporting
- Reviewing commercial initiatives, business cases and strategic proposals
- Strengthening financial controls and governance
- Improving the quality and efficiency of management reporting
- Identifying opportunities to simplify and automate finance processes
- Coaching and developing members of the finance team
What we're looking for
You’ll ideally be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, with around five years or more of relevant experience across commercial finance, FP&A or financial controlling. We're looking for someone with:
- Strong budgeting, forecasting and financial planning experience
- Revenue, margin and profitability analysis experience
- Commercial business partnering capability
- Confidence working with senior non-finance stakeholders
- Strong financial modelling and advanced Excel skills
- Power BI or similar reporting and analytics experience
- A good understanding of financial controls and management reporting
- The ability to turn detailed financial information into clear commercial recommendations
- Experience improving processes and reporting
- Previous exposure to leading, coaching or developing others
Experience within a larger or more complex manufacturing and production business would be useful, although the quality of your commercial finance and planning experience is more important than having followed a particular industry route.
What's on offer
The salary is £65,000 to £70,000 plus benefits, with the opportunity to take on a visible and influential role within a substantial international organisation. For someone already operating at Finance Manager, FP&A Manager or Commercial Finance Manager level, this offers a good combination of commercial exposure, planning ownership, leadership and direct interaction with senior stakeholders.
If you're considering your next move in Milton Keynes and the Senior Commercial Finance Manager remit fits your background.
