Tax Investigations Assistant Manager
Top 50 Accountancy Firm | London | Hybrid | £50,000-£65,000 + Benefits
A great opportunity for a Tax Investigations professional looking for their next step.
I'm working with a well-established Top 50 UK accountancy firm that is looking to add a Tax Investigations Assistant Manager to its growing specialist team.
This is a team that genuinely specialises in investigations and disputes, rather than investigations being a small part of a wider tax role. You'll get exposure to a varied caseload, interesting clients and complex HMRC work, while working closely with experienced Managers and Directors.
What will you be doing?
You'll be involved in a mixture of:
- HMRC enquiries and investigations
- COP8 & COP9 cases
- Contractual Disclosure Facility cases
- Voluntary disclosures
- Tax settlements and negotiations with HMRC
- Reviewing client affairs and identifying potential tax exposures
- Preparing responses to HMRC
- Supporting complex and high-value investigations
- Building relationships with clients and helping them navigate the investigation process
You'll have plenty of client contact and the opportunity to take ownership of your own cases, with support from senior members of the team when needed.
Who are they looking for?
We're looking for someone with a solid background in Tax Investigations / Tax Disputes who is ready to take the next step.
You might currently be an Assistant Manager, Senior or experienced Tax Consultant, or you could be coming from HMRC with relevant investigations experience.
Experience with COP8, COP9, HMRC enquiries, disclosures or settlement negotiations would be particularly relevant.
Big 4, Top 20, Top 50 or specialist investigations experience would all be considered.
Why this role?
This isn't just another generalist tax position with a bit of investigations work thrown in.
You'll be joining a specialist investigations team, working on genuinely interesting cases with a clear route to progress.
£50,000-£65,000 + benefits
