Accounts Senior – Centre of London Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum An established accountancy practice based in Harrow is seeking an experienced Accounts Senior to join their team. This is a varied role covering accounts, audit, and tax, with the opportunity to work with a diverse client portfolio across multiple industries. Key Responsibilities Accounts Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies, LLPs, sole traders, partnerships, and pension schemes. Complete planning sections in line with internal guidelines. Monitor and prepare budgets. Prepare accounts from incomplete records or client trial balances using Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, etc. Liaise directly with clients to resolve queries. Review files with supervisors and complete reporting packs. Audit Lead and assist with internal and external audits. Undertake planning, controls, risk assessment, and determine materiality and sample sizes. Perform fieldwork testing, including stocktake attendance and site verifications. Conduct analytical reviews and complete audit files. Tax Prepare personal tax returns. Prepare VAT returns. Prepare corporation tax computations and returns. Prepare P11Ds. General Provide occasional advisory support to clients. Manage and respond to client correspondence. Review work of juniors, resolve technical queries, and ensure files are complete for manager review. Deliver effective on-the-job training to juniors and semi-seniors. Be aware of and promote relevant services to clients. Qualifications & Skills ACCA/ACA qualified (desirable) with at least 18 months\’ post-qualification experience. Degree in Accounting/Finance (desirable). Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and recent developments. Experience working with owner-managed businesses across a range of industries. Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, Sage Line 50, IIRIS, CCH, VT Transactions, Xero, Virtual Cabinet, and QuickBooks. Person Specification Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Strong technical and problem-solving abilities. High attention to detail, deadline-driven, and able to work under pressure. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks. Client-focused, commercially aware, and committed. Supervisory experience is essential.
