Client Accounting Manager - Practice
Location: Wembley
Salary: £58,000-£65,000 + benefits

As a Client Accounting Manager, you'll take responsibility for a portfolio of owner-managed businesses and SMEs, acting as a trusted point of contact while overseeing accounts, tax and advisory work. You'll have genuine autonomy in the role, alongside access to a supportive team and clear opportunities for progression.
The Role
You'll be responsible for managing client relationships and ensuring work is delivered accurately, efficiently and to a high standard. The position would suit someone with solid practice experience who enjoys combining technical accounting with client-facing responsibilities.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing a portfolio of clients across a range of sectors and business sizes
- Preparing and reviewing year-end accounts and management accounts
- Overseeing personal and corporation tax returns
- Providing clients with practical accounting and commercial advice
- Reviewing work completed by junior members of the team
- Supporting clients with budgeting, forecasting and business planning
- Building long-term relationships with directors and business owners
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and enhance client service
- Supporting the wider team with more complex accounting and advisory assignments
What We're Looking For
Previous practice experience is essential for this position. Candidates without accountancy practice experience will not be considered.
We're particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate:
- Proven experience working within an accountancy practice
- Strong knowledge of UK accounting and tax principles
- Experience managing a portfolio of clients independently
- Confidence reviewing accounts and tax work
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A commercially minded approach to client service
- Experience supervising or supporting junior colleagues
- ACCA, ACA or equivalent qualification would be advantageous, although strong relevant practice experience will be considered
