Job Description Accounts and Tax Manager £60,000 - £65,000 + benefits | Full-time | North London If you're an experienced practice accountant looking for a role where you can take real ownership of your clients, provide meaningful commercial advice and work closely with Partners, this could be an excellent opportunity to join a growing accountancy practice with a genuinely personal approach. As an Accounts and Tax Manager, you'll manage your own portfolio of clients across accounts, tax and advisory work. You'll work with a varied range of owner-managed businesses and SMEs, taking responsibility for delivering accounts and tax assignments while developing a strong understanding of each client's commercial objectives. There is also plenty of opportunity to get involved in management accounts, business planning and wider commercial discussions, including working alongside Partners on client matters where your insight can add value. Importantly, this is not a staff management role. The focus is on client ownership, technical delivery and building trusted relationships rather than managing a team. Taking responsibility for year-end accounts preparation and review Preparing and reviewing corporation tax and personal tax returns Managing VAT, bookkeeping and management accounts assignments where required Building long-term relationships and understanding the commercial drivers behind their businesses Providing practical advice rather than simply delivering compliance services Assisting clients with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning Reviewing management information and identifying areas where clients could improve performance ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification Strong experience within a UK accountancy practice Good technical knowledge across accounts and taxation Experience preparing and reviewing statutory accounts and tax returns Strong commercial awareness and an interest in advisory work A proactive, personable approach to client service The accountancy firm has a long-standing reputation for being genuinely available to its clients, acting quickly and providing advice that is practical, commercial and timely.
