Working with a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses, you'll play a key role in ensuring clients receive an efficient, accurate, and proactive bookkeeping service.
Based in Edgware , you'll collaborate with experienced accountants and advisors while benefiting from ongoing professional development and genuine career progression.
The Role As a Bookkeeper , you'll be responsible for managing day-to-day financial records for a diverse client portfolio, ensuring all bookkeeping is completed accurately and on time.
This is a hands-on position offering plenty of variety within the accountancy sector.
Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for a range of clients.
Process sales and purchase invoices.
Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
Prepare and submit VAT returns.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Process journals, accruals and prepayments where required.
Assist with month-end procedures and management reporting.
Liaise directly with clients, providing support on bookkeeping queries.
Work with cloud-based accounting software, including Xero, Quick Books and Sage.
Support the wider accounts team with additional finance-related tasks as required.
About You We're looking for someone who is organised, detail-focused and enjoys working with clients.
You'll ideally have: Previous experience in a bookkeeping position within an accountancy practice.
Strong knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping principles.
Experience preparing VAT returns.
Good working knowledge of Xero, Quick Books or Sage.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Strong communication skills with a professional and friendly approach.
The ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
AAT qualification or study towards AAT would be advantageous but is not essential.
