We're working with a highly successful and expanding accountancy practice that is continuing to invest heavily in its Audit team. Due to sustained growth and an increasing client base, the firm is looking to appoint an Audit & Accounts Senior to join its Bournemouth office. This role offers a varied client portfolio, exposure to both audit and accounts work, and a clear pathway towards Assistant Manager and Manager level.

You'll be joining a collaborative team environment where technical excellence is valued, but so is developing people.

The Opportunity

As an Audit & Accounts Senior, you'll work closely with Managers and Partners to deliver high-quality services to a diverse portfolio of clients, including owner-managed businesses, SMEs, corporate groups and charitable organisations. You’ll take ownership of audit assignments, build strong client relationships and play an active role in supporting and developing junior team members. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to broaden their technical experience while increasing their responsibility and client exposure.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Managing audit assignments from planning through to completion
  • Working closely with clients across a broad range of industries and sectors
  • Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts and financial statements
  • Supporting the delivery of audit engagements for SMEs, corporate groups and not-for-profit organisations
  • Building strong and lasting relationships with clients
  • Acting as a key point of contact throughout audit assignments
  • Identifying risks and resolving audit and accounting issues
  • Assisting with the management of client portfolios
  • Coaching, mentoring and supporting trainees and junior staff
  • Working collaboratively with Managers and Partners to deliver an exceptional client experience

About You

We're interested in speaking with ambitious practice professionals who enjoy client interaction, technical work and developing their careers within a supportive environment. You’ll ideally have:

  • ACA or ACCA qualification
  • Strong audit experience gained within an accountancy practice
  • Experience working on external audit assignments from planning through to completion
  • Good understanding of UK accounting standards
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities effectively
  • A positive and professional approach to client service
  • Strong IT skills and confidence using accounting and audit software
  • Experience with CCH or similar audit software would be beneficial but is not essential.
