The Role

As Client Manager - Accounts, you will manage a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses and other clients, acting as a trusted point of contact and ensuring they receive a high-quality, commercially focused service.
You'll work closely with directors and colleagues across the wider business, while also taking responsibility for supporting and developing members of the accounts team.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing your own portfolio of clients and overseeing their accounting requirements.
• Building strong, long-term relationships with business owners and key client contacts.
• Reviewing accounts work and ensuring deadlines and quality standards are consistently met.
• Working alongside directors to provide practical accounting and business advice.
• Supervising, coaching and developing junior and qualified team members.
• Managing workflow across your portfolio and ensuring work is delivered efficiently.
• Identifying opportunities to broaden existing client relationships and support business development.
• Getting under the skin of your clients' businesses and understanding their wider commercial needs.
• Contributing ideas that improve processes, service delivery and the overall client experience.

About You

You'll be ACA or ACCA qualified and have gained solid practice experience at Assistant Manager or Manager level.
You're likely to be someone who:

• Has experience managing a portfolio of clients within practice.
• Is comfortable working with owner-managed businesses and SMEs.
• Has strong accounts and general practice knowledge.
• Can confidently communicate with clients at different levels.
• Enjoys leading, mentoring and developing others.
• Is organised and able to manage competing deadlines effectively.
• Takes a commercially minded approach to client service.
• Is confident with accounting technology; experience with CCH would be advantageous.
• Enjoys working collaboratively and wants to play an active role in the continued growth of a firm.
