I'm working with a highly regarded UK accountancy firm in the City of London that is looking to appoint a Private Client Tax Senior Manager as part of the continued growth of its private client offering. This is an opportunity for an experienced Private Client Tax professional who wants to take real ownership of their client portfolio, lead a team and play a meaningful role in the continued growth of the practice. Most importantly, they're looking for someone who wants to make an impact rather than simply inherit a job description.
Job Title: Private Client Tax Senior Manager
Location: City of London - hybrid working available
Salary: £75,000 - £95,000 (DOE) + benefits
The Opportunity:
You'll take the lead on a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals and complex private clients, providing high-quality compliance and advisory support across a broad range of personal tax matters. The role will combine:
- High-level private client tax advisory and compliance
- Managing complex and higher-risk tax engagements
- Acting as a trusted point of contact for key clients
- Leading client meetings and providing commercially focused advice
- Reviewing and signing off work to ensure technical excellence
- Keeping clients ahead of legislative and tax developments
- Working collaboratively with other tax and advisory teams
- Identifying opportunities to broaden client relationships
- Supporting the wider growth strategy of the private client team
Leadership & Development:
- Coach and develop team members
- Delegate effectively and manage workflow
- Monitor performance and provide meaningful feedback
- Identify training and development opportunities
- * Champion technical updates and best practice
- * Build a positive, collaborative team culture
- * Take responsibility for team performance and delivery
The Commercial Side:
For someone with ambitions beyond pure compliance, there's plenty of scope to get involved in business development and practice growth. You'll have the opportunity to:
* Develop existing client relationships
* Build relationships with professional referrers
* Identify opportunities for additional advisory work
* Promote the firm's private client expertise externally
* Contribute to departmental growth initiatives

Candidate Qualities:
- CTA qualified or equivalent
- An experienced Private Client Tax Manager / Senior Manager
- Comfortable advising HNWIs and complex private clients
- Technically strong across personal tax
- Confident managing client relationships
- Experienced in reviewing and delivering high-quality work
- A natural team leader and mentor
- Commercially minded with an interest in business development
- Comfortable working with other service lines on complex client matters
