A highly regarded and growing accountancy practice is looking for an experienced Mixed Tax Manager to join its established tax team in London.
This is an opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders and a diverse portfolio of corporate and entrepreneurial clients, delivering a mixture of compliance, advisory and tax planning work.
You'll have the opportunity to build genuine client relationships, contribute to complex tax projects and play an important role in the development of the wider tax team.
The Role
As a Mixed Tax Manager, you'll support senior tax leaders in delivering high-quality tax advice while taking ownership of your own portfolio of clients.
Your responsibilities will include
- Managing and developing strong relationships with a portfolio of corporate and personal tax clients.
- Acting as a trusted adviser and providing proactive tax planning and advisory support.
- Delivering corporate tax planning projects designed to improve tax efficiency and minimise liabilities.
- Working on a range of specialist areas including R&D tax relief, employee share schemes and EIS/SEIS planning and implementation.
- Managing multiple client engagements and ensuring work is delivered to a consistently high standard.
- Preparing and reviewing corporate and personal tax returns, computations and supporting schedules.
- Supporting with Capital Allowances analysis and reports for audit clients.
- Researching complex tax issues and producing clear, practical advice and reports.
- Managing HMRC enquiries and acting as an intermediary between HMRC and clients where required.
- Acting as a technical point of contact for ad-hoc tax queries across the wider business.
- Reviewing junior team members' work and supporting their training and development.
- Keeping up to date with changes in tax legislation and identifying opportunities for clients.
What We're Looking For
You'll ideally have experience working within an accountancy practice and will be comfortable operating across both corporate and personal tax.
We're looking for someone with
- Strong experience across Corporate and Personal Tax.
- A genuine interest in corporate tax planning and advisory work.
- Experience managing a client portfolio and building long-term client relationships.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK tax legislation and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to communicate complex tax matters clearly and commercially.
- Experience reviewing work and supporting more junior members of a team.
- Knowledge of property tax would be advantageous.
- Experience using IRIS would be beneficial, although not essential.
- CTA qualification would be advantageous.
