Step up and make an impact. Are you ready to take the next step in your practice career with a firm that has genuine growth ambitions? We're working with a growing accountancy practice looking to appoint an ambitious Audit and Accounts Assistant Manager who wants greater responsibility, more challenging work and a clear route for progression.

This is a varied practice role with a strong audit focus, alongside accounts and wider client-facing responsibilities. The firm is investing in its growth, creating an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to develop alongside the business rather than simply maintain the status quo.

The role:

  • Planning and delivering external audits from initial planning through to completion
  • Reviewing audit work and ensuring assignments are completed to a high standard
  • Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts under UK GAAP
  • Supporting corporation tax and wider compliance work
  • Managing your own portfolio and keeping assignments on track
  • Building trusted relationships with clients and becoming a key point of contact
  • Identifying technical and commercial issues and discussing solutions with clients and senior colleagues
  • Reviewing work completed by junior team members and providing constructive feedback
  • Supporting the development and mentoring of less experienced staff
  • Working alongside senior leadership on more complex and advisory-focused assignments

What are they looking for?

You'll ideally be ACA or ACCA qualified, or approaching qualification, with solid UK practice experience across audit and accounts. The successful candidate is likely to be someone who:

  • Has strong external audit experience within UK practice
  • Can confidently manage assignments and client relationships
  • Has good knowledge of UK GAAP and statutory accounts
  • Is comfortable reviewing work and supporting junior team members
  • Communicates confidently with clients and colleagues at all levels
  • Enjoys solving problems rather than simply processing information
  • Is commercially minded and keen to develop advisory exposure
  • Is ambitious, proactive and ready for a genuine step forward

What's on offer?

This Audit and Accounts Assistant Manager role offers £50,000-£60,000, alongside the opportunity to join a firm with clear growth plans and a strong appetite to develop its people. You'll gain exposure to a broad client portfolio, increasing responsibility and the chance to work closely with experienced senior professionals. For the right person, there is genuine scope to progress as the practice continues to expand.

If you're an ambitious practice professional who wants more challenge, responsibility and long-term career potential, this could be a very interesting move.
