Insite International are recruiting for a Fire Safety Advisor to join an NHS Estates and Facilities team based in Truro. This role is critical in helping ensure the safety of patients, staff, visitors, and NHS property across our healthcare estate.
We are seeking a knowledgeable professional with a strong background in fire safety management, risk assessment, and compliance within complex environments. Healthcare experience is desirable but not essential.
About the Role
As Fire Safety Advisor, you will support the Trust in meeting its statutory fire safety obligations and maintaining compliance with current fire legislation, NHS guidance, and HTM standards. You will work closely with clinical and non-clinical departments to promote a positive fire safety culture across the organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting fire risk assessments and audits across Trust premises
- Advising managers and staff on fire safety compliance and best practice
- Supporting fire evacuation planning and emergency procedures
- Delivering fire safety training and awareness sessions
- Investigating fire incidents and near misses
- Monitoring compliance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
- Liaising with external agencies including the Fire & Rescue Service
- Assisting with fire safety aspects of refurbishment and capital projects
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience working within fire safety, health & safety, or estates compliance
- A recognised fire safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH Fire, IFSM, IFE or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of UK fire safety legislation and standards
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Good report writing and analytical skills
Healthcare or public sector experience would be advantageous.
