The Role
You\’ll be joining a market-leading Financial Services Tax team, working with an impressive client base including major banks, insurance companies, asset managers, and innovative fintech businesses. This role offers genuine progression opportunities and exposure to high-profile, complex transactions.
Day-to-day you\’ll be:
- Lead and manage corporate tax compliance and advisory projects for financial services clients
- Provide technical tax advice on complex financial services transactions and structures
- Manage relationships with key financial services clients and serve as primary tax contact
- Supervise and develop junior team members, providing technical guidance and mentoring
- Prepare and review complex corporate tax computations and returns for financial institutions
- Advise on regulatory tax matters specific to financial services (CRD IV, Solvency II, MIFID II)
- Support business development activities and proposal preparation
- Stay current with evolving tax legislation affecting the financial services sector
- Collaborate with other service lines to deliver integrated solutions to clients
What You\’ll Bring
Essential:
- ACA/CTA qualified or equivalent professional qualification
- 5-8 years of corporate tax experience with significant exposure to financial services
- Strong technical knowledge of UK corporate tax legislation
- Experience with financial services regulatory frameworks and their tax implications
- Proven track record of managing client relationships and complex projects
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Team leadership and people management experience
- Proficiency in tax technology and software platforms
Ideally you\’ll also have:
- Experience with international tax matters affecting financial services groups
- Knowledge of banking/insurance specific tax regimes
- Experience with M&A transactions in the financial services sector
- Understanding of derivatives and structured products taxation
- Previous Big 4 or top tier advisory firm experience
