I am supporting an established accountancy practice firm to recruit a Senior Finance Assistant to join their internal finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will support daily finance operations and act as a key contact for internal finance-related queries across the firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the month-end process, including journals and reporting to senior management
- Complete daily bank reconciliations and maintain the cashbook
- Post transactions from online banking and distribute daily banking reports
- Prepare and distribute monthly WIP and Aged Debt reports
- Update monthly departmental and committee spend reports
- Reconcile monthly credit card statements
- Produce and issue quarterly payroll bills
- Review staff expenses and upload for weekly payment runs
- Oversee the purchase ledger, resolve supplier queries, and ensure timely payments
- Assist with the administration of the tax enquiry protection scheme
- Support client account functions and help improve internal processes
- Provide cover for team members during busy periods or absences
About You
- AAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA
- Experience in an internal finance role
- WIP experience
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and month-end processes
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Clear communicator with a proactive approach
The successful candidate will be available on a maximum of 1 month notice, be experienced in the duties listed above including WIP and working with an accountancy practice or Law firm. You will be able to commute to the client offices in Bank for this hybrid and permanent opportunity.
