Job Title: Private Client Tax Assistant Manager
Location: City of London β hybrid working policy!
The Role:
As a Private Client Tax Assistant Manager in the London team, you will deal with high-net-worth individuals and their families and trusts. The role will involve elements of compliance, dispute resolution and advisory, and the London team has a strong bias towards more complex cases. There will be a degree of flexibility to tailor the role to the individual, with opportunities to get involved with; OMB restructuring projects such as mergers, demergers, acquisitions, tax due diligence, profit extraction and succession planning; international matters including offshore trusts and structures; and inheritance tax planning. The role includes but is not limited to:
- Dealing with the preparation, submission, and review of annual tax returns of all delegated clients.
- Advising clients on various private client tax issues, including international and cross-border tax matters.
- Responsible for and supporting on a diverse portfolio which will include but is not limited to high-net-worth individuals, wealthy families, and offshore structures.
- Ensuring all tax returns are compliant with tax regulations and liaising with HMRC and clients on all personal tax issues
- Management of HMRC interventions, including s9A enquiries, other investigations, and voluntary disclosures.
- Regularly updating your tax technical knowledge through continuing professional development
- Positive involvement with tax advisory work and spotting opportunities to win new work
- Supporting with business development and marketing initiatives
- Supporting junior members of the team with their development
- Supporting senior staff and partners on complex projects.
What I\βm Looking For:
- A Private Client Tax professional who is either looking to make a step into an Assistant Manager role or an experienced Assistant Manager-level individual who will join the tax department to grow and service the tax offering to clients, whilst looking to develop and progress further in their career.
- CTA/ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent.
- Professional curiosity and desire for continuous learning
- IT literate (Excel, Word, tax software)
- Effective communication skills β verbal and written
- Ability to supervise junior in the team
- Organisational skills and the ability to plan and prioritise work accordingly.
- Problem solving and decision making
- Ability to work well under pressure
