The Private Client team currently consists of 15 professionals, including two Partners and an Associate Partner.
The Opportunity: I am seeking an experienced and dynamic Private Client Tax Manager to join their expanding Private Client team. The successful candidate will manage all day-to-day aspects of a portfolio of private clients, with a focus on compliance responsibilities and opportunities to lead tax advisory work. You'll play a key role in managing client relationships, leading projects, and mentoring team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as principal manager contact for a portfolio of private clients, taking full responsibility for compliance work review processes.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships as a trusted advisor.
- Support business development opportunities and new client relationship development.
- Collaborate with Senior Management Team on portfolio management and team development.
- Provide comprehensive personal tax compliance services and identify planning opportunities.
- Deliver ad hoc advisory services to High Net Worth Individuals (HNWI) and Owner Managed Business (OMB) clients.
- Advise on residence and domicile matters, including UK entry/exit planning and remittance basis changes.
- Handle trust structuring, both offshore and UK, including tax implications and benefits.
- Provide international tax planning for cross-border interests, including double taxation treaties.
- Deliver estate planning to minimize inheritance tax liabilities.
- Support family business advisory including succession planning and governance structures.
- Mentor and develop Private Client Tax team members at all levels.
- Conduct personal development reviews and provide performance feedback.
- Support training initiatives and improve team efficiency.
- Ensure high standards of performance and professional growth.
- Manage successful delivery of personal tax compliance functions.
- Identify and mitigate tax risks while ensuring technical and ethical compliance.
- Monitor budgets, recoveries, and billing processes.
- Provide fee quotes and manage commercial aspects of client service.
Essential Requirements - Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience in a private client tax managerial role, ideally within a top 30 professional services firm.
- Relevant professional qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent).
- Deep understanding of personal tax law and regulations.
- Strong track record in client advisory work and relationship management.
- Experience in leading projects and managing teams.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in tax software (CCH) and tax research platforms (Croner-i/LexisNexis).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with strategic mindset.
- Commercial mindedness with experience in financial management of client services.
Personal Qualities:
