The Opportunity
As a Corporate Tax Assistant Manager, you will collaborate with both corporate tax specialists and the broader team of 130 multiple-discipline tax advisors. Supporting on multiple assignments, of both a compliance and advisory nature, you will manage the delivery of projects to time, budget and quality standards.
Day-to-day Responsibilities:
- Supporting senior colleagues in activities ranging from preparing corporation tax computations and returns to advisory work such as capital allowances, R&D claims, tax due diligence and transaction / restructuring reports.
- Assist with the development of junior staff through day-to-day support and mentoring.
- Undertaking tax technical research for wider projects and a number of tax related administrative tasks.
- Becoming involved with the marketing and business development efforts of the team.
- Helping to build and maintain contact with clients, HMRC, other accountancy, law and professional services firms, in the delivery of an excellent client service.
- Working alongside audit colleagues on annual tax assignments.
About You:
- 2+ years of previous experience in a corporation tax compliance role.
- ATT/CTA or ACA/CTA qualified (or equivalent), or part-qualified with relevant experience and interest in studying for CTA.
- Commercially astute, with a keen analytical and problem-solving mind.
- Organised and able to plan time efficiently in order to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently, or as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport quickly with clients.
- Professional and discreet in demonstrating client care.
- Previous experience of Alphatax would be useful.
