We are seeking a motivated Corporate Tax Associate to join our fast growing client\’s Corporate Tax Advisory team in Chelmsford. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious tax professional to develop their career in corporate tax, working with a diverse range of clients from SMEs to large corporates across various sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare corporation tax computations and returns for a varied client portfolio
- Assist with quarterly instalment computations and payment planning
- Support tax planning projects including group reorganisations and restructuring
- Conduct tax research and analysis on complex technical issues
- Prepare tax provisions and deferred tax calculations for statutory accounts
- Assist with due diligence projects for M&A transactions
Client Service & Relationship Management
- Maintain regular contact with clients to discuss tax matters and compliance deadlines
- Attend client meetings with senior team members
- Respond to client queries in a timely and professional manner
- Prepare clear and concise tax advice letters and memoranda
- Build strong working relationships with client finance teams
Technical Development
- Stay updated on changes in corporate tax legislation and case law
- Participate in technical training sessions and CPD activities
- Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and best practice initiatives
- Research technical issues using professional databases and HMRC guidance
- Support the development of tax planning strategies and solutions
- Work closely with audit, accounts, and advisory teams on integrated client solutions
- Support junior team members and trainees with technical guidance
- Contribute to internal projects and process improvements
- Participate in team meetings and knowledge sharing sessions
Qualifications & Experience
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or ATT qualification (or part-qualified with relevant experience)
- 2-4 years\’ experience in corporate tax (practice or in-house)
- Strong foundation in UK corporation tax principles and compliance
- Experience with tax software and Microsoft Office suite
- Understanding of accounting principles and their interaction with tax
