Our client is seeking a CTA qualified Corporate Tax Manager to join their growing accounting firm in Cheltenham. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tax professional to take on a varied and challenging caseload whilst developing their technical expertise and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a diverse portfolio of corporate tax clients across various sectors and sizes, from owner-managed businesses to larger corporate groups
- Preparing and reviewing corporation tax computations and returns, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and deadlines
- Providing proactive tax planning advice to clients on matters including group restructuring, capital allowances, R&D tax credits, and loss relief strategies
- Handling technical queries on complex corporate tax issues including capital gains, intangible assets, and international tax matters
- Managing tax enquiries and dealing with HMRC correspondence on behalf of clients
- Supervising and mentoring junior team members, reviewing their work and supporting their professional development
- Building strong client relationships and identifying opportunities to add value through advisory services
- Keeping abreast of tax legislation changes and their implications for clients
- Contributing to the firm's tax practice development and thought leadership
Qualifications
- CTA qualified (Chartered Tax Adviser) with strong technical knowledge of UK corporate taxation
- Significant experience in corporate tax compliance and advisory work, ideally within an accounting practice environment
- Excellent technical skills with the ability to research and resolve complex tax issues
- Strong commercial awareness and client relationship management skills
- Experience supervising and developing junior staff
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational and time management abilities
- Proficiency with tax software and Microsoft Office applications
