Accounts Senior to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA or ACCA qualified professional, or someone nearing qualification, who is looking for a role offering genuine variety, increased responsibility and the opportunity to build strong client relationships.
Unlike a purely compliance-focused position, this role provides exposure across accounts, tax, management information and advisory work, allowing you to broaden your technical skillset while working closely with experienced Partners and Directors.
The Opportunity
As an
Accounts Senior , you\'ll manage a varied portfolio of clients including sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, supporting them with a full range of accounting requirements.
You'll take ownership of delivering high-quality work, reviewing assignments prepared by junior colleagues and acting as a trusted point of contact for clients.
This is a role suited to someone who enjoys the variety of general practice and wants to continue progressing within a supportive and ambitious firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
- Assist with the preparation and review of management accounts, including budgets, forecasts and cash flow information.
- Review bookkeeping records and support clients with maintaining accurate accounting systems.
- Prepare and review VAT returns and wider compliance assignments.
- Assist with corporation tax computations, deferred tax calculations and personal tax-related work.
- Provide commercially focused support and insight to clients beyond traditional compliance services.
- Build strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted adviser and point of contact.
- Review work completed by trainees, providing guidance and constructive feedback.
- Manage deadlines effectively across multiple client assignments.
- Work collaboratively with tax, audit and wider specialist teams to deliver an excellent client service.
About You
- ACA or ACCA qualified, or close to completing your qualification.
- 3-5 years\' experience gained within a UK accountancy practice environment.
- Strong technical knowledge across accounts preparation and taxation.
- Experience working with owner-managed businesses and a varied client portfolio.
- Confident using accounting software such as Xero or Quick Books (Case Ware experience desirable but not essential).
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
- A confident communicator who enjoys developing client relationships.
- Ambitious, proactive and keen to continue developing professionally.
