We're looking for an ambitious and detail-driven Assistant Accountant / Bookkeeper to join our growing practice team. This isn't your standard bookkeeping role. You'll work closely with client managers, support a varied portfolio of businesses, and play a key role in delivering high-quality financial information and client support. Responsibilities for the Assistant Accountant / Bookkeeper role:
- Preparing and reviewing bookkeeping records
- Producing VAT returns and management figures
- Supporting the management of a diverse client portfolio
- Working directly with client managers to understand client needs and identify opportunities for added value support
- Verifying supplier bank details and processing payments
- Using cloud-based accounting systems and helping clients work smarter with technology
The ideal candidate:
- AAT Level 3 (or equivalent) bookkeeping knowledge
- Experience using Xero
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- High attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure
- A proactive, self-motivated approach
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and accounting technology
Bonus points for experience with: Iris, Alpha, QuickBooks or Sage 50
