A highly regarded advisory firm operating within Accountancy is looking to appoint an experienced M&A Tax Manager to strengthen its transactions capability. This role sits in a specialist team focused on complex, high-value advisory work rather than volume-driven compliance, working closely with Partners and Directors on genuinely interesting deals. Based in London with a well-established hybrid working model, this opportunity is aimed at CTA-qualified tax professionals who want depth, variety and visibility without the politics or presenteeism.

This M&A Tax Manager position is built around transaction-led advisory work across corporate and private client tax. You will be involved from early structuring conversations through to execution, supporting clients through acquisitions, disposals, reorganisations and succession-driven events. The work is technical, commercial and varied, with real scope to influence outcomes rather than just document them.

What you will be doing:

  • Advising on pre and post-transaction structuring for mergers, acquisitions and disposals
  • Supporting group reorganisations and demergers, including risk ring-fencing and simplification projects
  • Contributing to tax due diligence assignments across a range of sectors
  • Advising on shareholder and family wealth structuring alongside specialist colleagues
  • Researching complex technical issues and producing clear, well-reasoned written advice
  • Managing multiple projects and stakeholders concurrently
  • Working closely with senior advisers on high-profile client mandates

What we are looking for:

  • CTA qualified with experience in transaction-focused tax advisory
  • Background in a mixed tax, M&A or deals team within professional services
  • Strong technical grounding across corporate tax with exposure to private client considerations
  • Comfortable producing bespoke advisory work rather than standardised outputs
  • Commercial, curious and confident communicating directly with clients

What’s on offer:

  • Salary of £75,000 to £80,000 depending on experience
  • Full-time permanent role with hybrid working in London
  • High-quality advisory and deal exposure rather than repetitive compliance
  • Clear progression routes and close Partner interaction
  • A collaborative, grown-up culture within the accountancy sector

This M&A Tax Manager role is ideal for someone who enjoys transactional work, technical challenge and being trusted to think. The position offers genuine flexibility, and sits within a strong professional services environment.
