This is a chance to step into a genuinely meaty M&A role with a well-established, quietly ambitious firm operating in the professional services sector. They are growing their advisory capability and want someone who enjoys being close to clients, close to decisions, and close to the action. The role is based in London and sits within a collaborative lead advisory team handling mid-market transactions with real complexity and variety.

The role and why it's worth your attention: You would be joining a business that takes deal execution seriously but does not mistake long hours for quality output. The position offers exposure across buy-side and sell-side mandates, MBOs and fundraising work, with a strong international angle supported by a wider global network. Working from London, you will have space to shape client relationships, influence how deals are run, and play a visible part in the evolution of the advisory function within a respected professional services environment.

What you’ll be doing day to day:

  • Leading M&A and corporate finance transactions from origination through to completion
  • Acting as the main point of contact for clients, investors and counterparties
  • Overseeing financial modelling, valuation work and transaction documentation
  • Supporting business development activity, pitches and proposal work
  • Developing relationships with referrers, advisors and funding sources
  • Coaching and reviewing the work of junior team members
  • Contributing ideas to improve processes, deal execution and market presence

What tends to work well in this team:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified with solid post-qualification corporate finance experience
  • Hands‐on exposure to M&A processes rather than purely theoretical work
  • Strong financial modelling and valuation capability
  • Confidence managing multiple live mandates without losing grip on detail
  • A relationship‐led mindset that fits comfortably within an accountancy firms culture

What's on offer:

  • Estimated salary range of ÂŁ75,000 to ÂŁ90,000 plus bonus, depending on experience
  • Hybrid working with sensible flexibility built in
  • 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays, with the option to buy or sell additional days
  • Clear progression potential toward Associate Director level
  • Supportive leadership and structured development pathways
  • Access to wellbeing support and employee assistance programmes

This opportunity is ideal for someone who wants to progress their career without disappearing into a corporate machine. The role is based in London, offers meaningful flexibility, and sits within a firm that values quality thinking over noise. Applications and confidential conversations are welcomed for those currently working in or keen to deepen their experience within accountancy practice.
