A well-established professional services firm is looking to appoint an Audit Quality Manager into its internal technical and compliance function. This is a senior, non-client-facing role for someone who is practice trained, technically confident and comfortable challenging audit work constructively.
You will play a key role in protecting audit quality, strengthening methodology and supporting partners and audit teams across the firm. If you enjoy standards, judgement calls and raising the bar, this one will suit you.
Base pay range
Salary: £65,000-£80,000 + benefits
Location: London (hybrid)
What you will be doing
- Performing in-flight, cold file and thematic audit quality reviews
- Preparing clear, evidence-based review reports for senior stakeholders
- Identifying audit quality risks and driving practical improvements
- Responding to audit-related technical queries from engagement teams
- Reviewing audit reports, including modified opinions, prior to issuance
- Contributing to audit quality initiatives, monitoring and remediation activity
- Developing and delivering audit quality guidance and training
- Liaising with senior partners, internal committees and regulators
What you will need
- ACA or ACCA qualified (essential)
- Practice background with strong UK audit and technical exposure
- Confident knowledge of ISAs (UK), ethical standards, Companies Act and reporting frameworks
- The ability to challenge constructively and communicate clearly
- Strong organisation and judgement when dealing with complex issues
- No sponsorship available – right to work in the UK is required
