The Role
We are seeking a commercially-minded Senior Finance Manager to take ownership of key engineering projects' financial operations. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to drive financial performance across complex engineering solutions and support critical business decisions in a dynamic technical environment. You will work closely with operational teams to deliver insights that shape business strategy, while ensuring robust financial controls and reporting standards are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Work directly with senior managers to provide financial insights and support decision-making
- Lead monthly management accounts preparation and ensure accurate, timely reporting
- Take ownership of operational budgets, providing monthly analysis, forecasting, and variance reporting
- Monitor profitability of key projects, working with project managers to track performance
- Produce comprehensive reports combining historical data and forecasts to assess profitability
- Maintain financial systems and ensure data accuracy and compliance
- Complete monthly reconciliations and quarterly reporting requirements
- Provide financial analysis to support business initiatives and operational improvements
What We Are Looking For
- Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA or equivalent)
- Ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights
- Background in operational finance within engineering/technical services environments preferred
- Advanced Excel skills with financial modeling and analysis experience
- Familiarity with corporate reporting systems (HFM/Hyperion advantageous)
- Strong communication skills to present financial information to non-finance stakeholders
- Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail and deadline management
