An established, large-scale organisation within the real estate and property investment space is looking for a Tax Manager to join on a 12-month fixed-term contract, covering a period of maternity leave. The role sits within a well-resourced in-house tax function and would suit someone trained in a Big 4 or top-tier practice who wants to apply their technical grounding in a commercial, decision-facing environment.
This is a full-time, hybrid role based in City of London, with a strong office culture balanced by sensible flexibility.
The InHouse Tax Manager opportunity
Working closely with the Head of Tax, you will take ownership of UK corporate tax compliance across a sizeable group structure, including REIT entities. You will be trusted to run your portfolio with confidence, act as a bridge between tax and finance, and support wider advisory and risk-focused work across the group. The scope and visibility make this an especially attractive move for Big 4-trained professionals who enjoy complex compliance, stakeholder interaction and seeing how tax really lands in the business.
What you will be doing
- Managing end-to-end UK corporation tax compliance for a portfolio of group entities, ensuring accuracy, quality and timeliness
- Overseeing the preparation and review of tax computations, provisions, forecasts and payment processes
- Reviewing statutory accounts and tax disclosures in collaboration with finance teams
- Coordinating group-wide matters including group relief, REIT compliance, CIR and related filings
- Managing capital allowances and transfer pricing inputs, including oversight of external advisers
- Supporting governance and risk areas such as SAO compliance
- Providing support across other UK taxes where needed, including VAT, SDLT and related property taxes
- Acting as a key technical and commercial point of contact for colleagues across finance, legal and treasury
- Contributing to the development and capability of junior team members
What we are looking for
- CTA and/or ACA qualified, with training from a Big 4 or leading professional services firm
- Strong UK corporation tax compliance experience in large or complex groups
- Comfortable managing multiple entities and navigating stakeholder relationships
- Experience with REITs or property investment structures is beneficial, but not essential
- Confident using tax compliance software and working with detailed financial data
- Organised, commercially aware and able to operate with a high degree of autonomy
What’s on offer
- £82,500 - £90,000 salary range
- 12-month FTC with genuine responsibility and visibility
- Hybrid working model in London with a sensible balance between office and home
- Exposure to complex, interesting tax issues within the property and investment sector
- A collaborative, professional in-house environment that values technical depth and clear thinking
If you are a Big 4-trained tax professional looking for a high-quality in-house role in London, this is a strong opportunity to step into a commercially engaged position within the real estate and property investment industry, without committing to a permanent move.
