My excellent client, a thriving organisation in the care sector, seeks a skilled Assistant Accountant for immediate maternity cover. This well-established business continues to expand their operations and requires a dedicated professional to join their close-knit finance team.

  • AAT Level 3 minimum (ACCA/CIMA early stage/part-qualified preferred)
  • Proven expertise in month-end procedures including accruals, prepayments, and journals
  • Strong reconciliation and intercompany accounting skills
  • Stable employment history with 2+ years relevant experience
  • Professional approach with excellent organisational abilities

Core Duties

  • Full Assistant Accounting duties using Xero working with a supportive and experienced Finance Manager
  • Multi-company payroll administration via BrightPay
  • Month-end accruals, prepayments, and journal processing
  • Comprehensive reconciliations and intercompany postings
  • Invoice processing and credit control activities
  • Statutory payment submissions (HMRC, pensions)
  • Financial reporting support and ad-hoc projects
  • Monday-Friday office hours (9-5) with hybrid working after 3 month probation
