About the role
The Installations Projects Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of retrofit, refurbishment and new‑build metering installation projects across Insite’s portfolio, leading the full project lifecycle from scope development and design coordination through to delivery, commissioning, client sign‑off and contract compliance. Operating as the primary liaison between clients, subcontractors, internal teams and external partners, you’ll ensure every project is delivered safely, technically correctly and commercially viable. You’ll drive planning, scheduling and on‑site execution, coordinate surveys, technical reviews, procurement and commissioning, and maintain rigorous documentation throughout. With ownership of contract performance, budgets, change control and commercial governance, you’ll keep stakeholders informed through clear reporting and proactive issue resolution. You’ll also oversee subcontractor performance, uphold safety and CDM standards, manage project risks, and ensure accurate handover documentation aligned with Insite’s governance requirements.
This Installation Project Manager role offers structured development in project and on‑site construction management over a 6–12‑month period, working closely with the Operations Director to support the Installations department and grow into a senior leadership role.
Location and working hours:
- Based at Insite’s Peterborough (PE1 5DD) or London (EC2Y 9DT) office (with remote working and occasional travel to Insite’s offices for face‑to‑face meetings).
- 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 09:00 17:30.
Required skills and attributes:
- Proven track record of delivering multi‑site construction, engineering, or metering installation projects.
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Strong understanding of contracts, cost control, and commercial governance.
- Confident in leading technical discussions and resolving on‑site issues.
- Able to build trust quickly with clients, subcontractors and internal teams.
- Comfortable making decisions, escalating risks, and driving progress under pressure.
- Experience in project or contract management within construction, M&E, utilities, heat networks, metering, or related fields.
- Background working with or overseeing subcontractors and specialist service providers.
- Strong commercial competence including variations, change control and forecasting.
- Experience running site meetings and handling client escalations effectively.
