About the role
The HIU Engineer is a hands-on role where you'll be working across residential developments, ensuring reliable and efficient heating and cooling systems for our clients and customers. You'll take pride in delivering high-quality work, providing excellent customer service and representing Insite Energy on-site.
What you'll be doing:
- Replacing, maintaining, and servicing Heat Interface Units (HIUs), mainly in occupied homes.
- Servicing and maintaining Mechanical Ventilation Heat Recovery (MVHR) systems.
- Replacing, maintaining, and servicing Fan Coil Units (FCUs) and cooling meters.
- Conducting in-property heat and cooling meter servicing and verifications.
- Diagnosing faults and problem-solving issues on site, liaising with other trades and contractors.
- Installing and maintaining in-property heating and cooling controls.
- Deploy Insite IT and PAYG smart metering systems on new build and residential sites.
- Retrofit and rewire existing Credit & PrePayment systems for optimal performance.
Location and working hours:
Field-based, mostly across central London. 37.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday working 7.5 hours per day between 08:00 and 20:00.
Required skills and attributes:
- Minimum qualification of NVQ level 2, or equivalent, in plumbing and heating.
- HIU maintenance and servicing.
- Certified in 18th edition domestic wiring.
- CSCS card.
- SMSTS or H&S qualification - desirable.
- First aid trained - desirable.
- Full driving licence essential.
- Positive attitude towards providing customer service excellence in all aspects of work.
- Happy to work as an individual but contribute to the team goals, ethos and share best practice.
