About the Role
We are currently seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to join our Maintenance & Facilities team. This is a hands-on role providing mechanical maintenance and electrical support across a busy manufacturing site. You'll play a crucial part in maintaining equipment reliability, ensuring safety compliance, and supporting the operational efficiency of the plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out maintenance and repairs to plant equipment and facilities to a high standard, identifying faults effectively.
- Conduct daily machine and equipment checks, including statutory inspections within your skillset.
- Provide out-of-hours call-in support as part of the shift team.
- Proactively identify and report spares required for planned works.
- Ensure compliance with all Safety, Environmental and Company procedures.
- Demonstrate awareness of environmental responsibilities as set out in Company procedures.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications & Education
- Mechanical or electrical qualification preferred
- Apprenticeship desirable but not essential
Experience & Skills
- Previous experience in a similar plant maintenance role
- Strong mechanical/electrical background
- Experience working at height
- Knowledge of pipework (PVC), pumps and motors
- Understanding of gas ovens, chillers, rectifiers (preferred)
- Understanding of air handling units/air conditioning (preferred)
Personal Attributes
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions clearly
- Confident using tools and equipment safely
- Able to work independently and remain calm under pressure
- Professional in dealing with on-site contractors
