The predicted salary is between 20400 - 40800 £ per year.

Location: Hayes

Salary: Up to 34,000 + 3,700 shift uplift

Shifts: Double Days - alternating early (06:00-14:00) and late (14:00-22:00) shifts weekly

About the Role

We are currently seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to join our Maintenance & Facilities team. This is a hands-on role providing mechanical maintenance and electrical support across a busy manufacturing site. You'll play a crucial part in maintaining equipment reliability, ensuring safety compliance, and supporting the operational efficiency of the plant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out maintenance and repairs to plant equipment and facilities to a high standard, identifying faults effectively.
  • Conduct daily machine and equipment checks, including statutory inspections within your skillset.
  • Provide out-of-hours call-in support as part of the shift team.
  • Proactively identify and report spares required for planned works.
  • Ensure compliance with all Safety, Environmental and Company procedures.
  • Demonstrate awareness of environmental responsibilities as set out in Company procedures.

What We're Looking For

Qualifications & Education

  • Mechanical or electrical qualification preferred
  • Apprenticeship desirable but not essential

Experience & Skills

  • Previous experience in a similar plant maintenance role
  • Strong mechanical/electrical background
  • Experience working at height
  • Knowledge of pipework (PVC), pumps and motors
  • Understanding of gas ovens, chillers, rectifiers (preferred)
  • Understanding of air handling units/air conditioning (preferred)

Personal Attributes

  • Able to follow written and verbal instructions clearly
  • Confident using tools and equipment safely
  • Able to work independently and remain calm under pressure
  • Professional in dealing with on-site contractors
