We are looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to join a busy manufacturing environment with various shift working patterns available. You may choose one shift pattern: either Monday - Thursday 21:45-07:00, weekends only (Friday, Saturday & Sunday), or day shifts (6:00-15:00, Tuesday - 7:00-15:00, Wednesday - 7:00-15:00, Thursday - 7:00-15:00, Friday - 7:00-13:00).

The role involves setting and operating CNC machines, producing components to drawing specification, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set and operate CNC milling and/or turning machines
  • Work to engineering drawings and job specifications
  • Ensure parts are produced to required quality standards
  • Complete work within set cycle times and production targets
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organised working area (5S standards)
  • Follow all Health & Safety procedures at all times
  • Support continuous improvement activities where required
  • Be flexible and support other areas of production when needed
  • Assist with training and support of other team members when required
Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Previous experience in a CNC machining or engineering environment
  • Experience setting and operating CNC machines (Mazak/Heidenhain experience preferred)
  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • Understanding of CNC programming (ISO / G-code and/or Mazatrol)
  • Good knowledge of milling and turning processes
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Awareness of Health & Safety in a manufacturing environment
  • Good communication skills
  • Reliable, hands-on approach to work
  • Basic computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office)
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience with offline programming (Edgecam, Mastercam or similar)
  • Experience in both milling and turning
  • Knowledge of Lean / continuous improvement practices
