We're currently recruiting an experienced Electronic Hardware Design Engineer to join a forward-thinking team developing cutting-edge solutions across the Defence, Industrial, and Scientific sectors. This is a hands-on design role offering a real opportunity to influence complex electronic systems from concept to production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and development of digital and analogue electronic hardware for advanced embedded systems.
  • Ownership of full hardware lifecycle: concept, schematic capture, PCB layout, prototyping, and validation.
  • Development and execution of test plans, specifications, and procedures.
  • Close collaboration with software, mechanical, and systems teams.
  • Support production, troubleshooting, and design-for-manufacture improvements.
  • Technical customer support and occasional site visits.
  • Authoring and maintenance of detailed design documentation.
  • Provision of consultancy and subject-matter expertise to clients when required.

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience in FPGA design and VHDL programming.
  • Extensive hands-on PCB design and layout experience, ideally using Altium Designer.
  • Strong understanding of digital and analogue circuit design, including high-speed switching and signal integrity considerations.
  • Working knowledge of EMC design principles.
  • Experience with A/D and D/A converters and supporting circuitry.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with high-voltage circuit design.
  • Understanding of optical systems and electronics.
