Product Development Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a Product Development Engineer to join our dynamic team and contribute to the design, development, and improvement of our products. This role will focus on new product introduction projects and the enhancement of existing product lines, working as part of the Product Development function alongside senior engineers.

The successful candidate will play a key role in taking innovative technologies from concept through to production, ensuring robust, high-quality solutions that meet demanding technical and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and lead aspects of new product development from concept through prototyping, validation, and production release.
• Contribute to the design, testing, and optimisation of components and assemblies.
• Work collaboratively with senior engineers, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve design challenges and improve product reliability and performance.
• Assist in documentation, including design specifications, test procedures, and engineering reports.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives for existing products, processes, and technologies.
• Engage in hands-on testing and data analysis to verify product performance.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Electronics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Materials Science (or related discipline) is desirable.
• Good level of experience in a product development or engineering role, ideally within a high-technology or scientific instrumentation environment.
• Experience with software tools, electronic systems, microscopic sensors, controls, or related technologies is desirable.
• Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional engineering teams.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
