We are recruiting for an experienced Plant Production Manager to lead our client’s manufacturing operation within a complex, fast-paced production environment on a weekend shift rotation. This appointment comes with full responsibility for shift performance, operational standards, team management, and production delivery across a rotating shift pattern.
As the senior Production lead on shift, you will play a critical role in driving safety, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement while building a strong, accountable, and high-performing team culture. This position is heavily focused on people leadership and operational management, requiring a strong background in employee relations, team development, Health & Safety, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
Shift Pattern: Rotating 4-day shift pattern (weekends, 37.5 hours per week), covering both day and night shifts.

The Role:
- Lead and manage Production Team Leaders and Technicians across rotating shifts
- Ensure production targets are achieved safely, efficiently, and in line with Quality and H&S standards
- Take ownership of people management activities including performance management, absence management, disciplinaries, investigations, and employee development
- Drive operational KPIs including output, efficiency, downtime, and schedule adherence
- Act as the main Production decision-maker on shift, coordinating cross-functional problem solving
- Promote Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement activities including 6S, RCA, and 5 Whys
- Support production planning, labour allocation, and shift resource management
- Lead investigations and corrective actions relating to safety, quality, and operational performance
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven leadership experience within a manufacturing or industrial production environment
- Strong people management and employee relations experience, including disciplinary and performance processes
- Demonstrated success leading shift-based production teams in a fast-moving operational setting
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety and Quality compliance within manufacturing
- Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies
- Excellent communication and cross-functional leadership skills
